How to up-level your Email Marketing in 2021

Then you should be doing email marketing. While there has been some talk that email marketing is on the decline that's certainly not the case. 78% of marketers have seen an increase in email engagement over the last 12 months, according to Hubspot.

But, as my gmail account can attest to, people are inundated with emails! So in order to successfully convert your leads into clients, you'll have to stand out from the crowd.

Here are my 5 tips to crush your email marketing goals:

Make it personal. Write your emails as if you're speaking one on one with your ideal customer, and use their name when it makes sense.

Use a catchy subject line. This is challenging, you want to clearly state why you're contacting them but you'll want to leave enough mystery for them to open your email. You can do this by teasing out your objective with a subject like "You donโ€™t want FOMO do you?" for a special sale or event.

Make sure your email is mobile-friendly. According to Hubspot, over 40% of email is consumed on smartphones, so double-check that your email is responsive.

Lead with a strong opening line. Don't forget that the first line of your text appears in the preview right after the subject line when youโ€™re looking at your inbox. You'll want to lay on the charm right away and get your email subscribers excited to open your email.

Segment your list. If you have different offerings or products or different customer personas you'll want to send those unique prospects content that is relevant to them, you can do this with list segmentation.
