The Top Advertising Metrics To Monitor

Do you want to know which KPIs you should be focused on when it come to Facebook advertising?

These are the top metrics we monitor:

Impressions: The number of times your ad was shown (includes showing ads to multiple people). The biggest factors that affect the number of Impressions (and Reach) are ad spend budget, how you optimize the ads, targeting, media, and copy. Using the average CPM (see CPM definition below) you can expect to get around 8,937 if you spend $100.

CTR (Click Through Rate): Facebook calculates your CTR by dividing an ad’s total number of clicks by its total number of impressions. The result is then multiplied by 100 and expressed as a percentage. The average CTR for the Food & Beverage industry is 1.20%.

CPC (Cost Per Click): The CPC is how much you're spending to get someone to click on your ad. It is one of the most commonly tracked metrics, and for good reason, as if this is high, it’s more likely your overall return on investment will be lower. The average CPC for the Food & Beverage industry is $0.42.

CPM (Cost per thousand impressions) This is another way to track the number of impressions. The average CPM for Facebook ads across all industries is $11.19.
