How Is Your Website Performing?
Is your website performing well?
Here are some things to check every month:
Take a look at your overall bounce rate. Bounce rate measures single-page sessions. When it comes to bounce rate, the lower the better. This means that people who are finding your site are a relevant target audience and that your website is engaging enough to visit subpages within your website. According to Rocketfuel, the average bounce rate is between 41 to 55 percent. So aim for that figure or lower!
Another key metric to take into account is average session duration which is the amount of time visitors spend on your website. More time spent on websites indicates more interest in the brand and in taking an action (ie. sending an email or booking an appointment).
The easiest indicator of growth is tracking the number of users. You should compare your number of users month over month and year over year to make sure you're trending up (taking seasonality into account).
You can access all of these metrics (except for site speed) for free through Google Analytics.
